Welcome to Terms 3 and 4 Stig of the Dump
This term, we will be reading Stig of the Dump by Clive King, a much-loved story that takes us back to prehistoric Britain. Through the story, they will find out all about what life was like in the Stone Age. In our topic lessons, children will build their historical knowledge about how early humans lived as hunter-gatherers, including how they used stone tools for hunting, building, and survival. They will learn about Stone Age shelters such as caves, wigwams and early houses, and explore how people adapted to their environment as they moved with the seasons. Children will also investigate significant prehistoric sites, including Skara Brae and Stonehenge, considering what these places tell us about settlement, technology and daily life in prehistoric Britain. |
